Pic of gauge at full operating temp note the tach View attachment 331353

My temp gage, when working the tractor, will stay middle gage around the two 2 white dots that are shown in your picture. When at idle for 5 minutes or longer, in cool weather, the indicator will lower just below the lower white dot. I suspect either your gage is not reading correct, the thermostat is not regulating stat temperatures, or it is bypassing.

I had the same problem--gauge never moved at all. When I had the 50 hour service [January], the dealer
said there were some bad sending units which he replaced under warranty. Ever since it runs
between the dots or just below [idle].

Thanks. Good info. I was thinking that was the problem. But I put a temp probe in the radiator at operating temp and it was what I think is low at 149 deg. I assume the thermostat is at 170 or more. Maybe the radiator is dropping the temp by 25 deg. Anyway. Should know this week.

If the gauge does not move at all, it sounds like the sender like retired guy said. I usually ground out the wire and it should go all the way to hot, but that is what warranties are for. CJ

Update:
Dealer came by and discovered corrosion on the connector at the sending unit. he changed the sending unit and cleaned the corrosion on the connector and was able to get the temp. guage to operate properly.
He has ordered a new wiring harness and will install that when it arrives.

So, I am glad to see the engine has been running at the proper temp. the whole time. Just not being reflected at the guage.
However, a bit concerned about why a brand new tractor has corrosion in the wiring. I hope this doesn't make for problems down the road.

It sounds as if the dealer is doing the right thing. Glad to hear the warranty program is working well.
