try this....do a search on "idiot light replacement" and select newer than 1 year. when you get the list look at the posts by "jdmar" from july last year and look at his attachment. there's a picture of the "T" that we used. hope this helps.
Just to avoid confusion, I put the T adapter on the oil sender only. It will still transmit the pressure well. I would have concerns about putting a T adapter on the temp since it likely needs to be in the flow of coolant to read accurately. I have heard of some either tapping a second hole in the block (not for me thanks!) or putting a short metal pipe with fitting in a cut section of radiator hose (sounds safer to me but may not give true engine temp). Here is the link to the old thread with the photos of how I and many others before me put the oil adapter T fitting in. Hope this helps.
I just want to make sure we don't all set up our tractors with gauges that may read the temp too low....don't want to see Yannys everywhere dropping from heat exhaustion this summer!
I don't understand the purpose for having both a temp light and a gauge. They are called "idiot lights" for good reason. When the light comes on you are out of business, which you should have known anyway, (the idiot part) /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif.
Double insurance and a different way people look at data. I love the gauges for both oil pressure and temp. I got used to scanning gauges on a continuous cycle from flight training. The idiot light for me is just to grab my attention between scan cycles. My wife uses the tractor frequntly (ie more than me) and prefers a light to come on to say "TURN ME OFF NOW" or at least to do something to improve the situation. She is very good at watching the temp gauge though...we know the temp rises when cutting our hilly sections and she shifts to a lower gear when temp is climbing. i.e. she prevents an overtemp situation rather than reacting to a late finding of a glowing "idiot" light
Now the other reason for gauges...we all have fun tinkerin' with these tractors....OK that is lilely the REAL reason we put them in.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Remember when Jill on Home Improvement blew up the engine in Tim's 57 Nomad? He noticed the oil light was on and asked her how long it had been on, she replied "about 3 days."
As he was throwing a fit over that, she said "Well, I thought it would get brighter if something was really wrong!"
