I just thought I would share some of my Father in Laws "trouble" with his NH tractors. Some might think this is real funny. Some may not.
Let me first say that my father in law is a great guy and he LOVES his tractors. But some times he pushes the limit on what he does with his tractors.
One of his favorite pastimes is pushing down trees. That's pretty much where his trouble starts. He's owned many different tractors over the years. I've known him for about 10 years and my stories about his tractos trouble starts about 5 years ago with his TC45d. He was clearing a lot for my sister in law. His tractor probably had less than 20 hours on it. I guess he had one tree that was giving him some trouble. But no problem, he just puts his bucket in the air and gets a good running start and rams it. But, the tree did not fall over. So he tried to back up but all he heard was gears grinding. He gets off his tractor and discovers that he broke it in half. Yes, BROKE IT IN HALF right at the transmission.
He ended up getting another TC45 and other than a couple new hoods and fenders didn't brake anything major for about 4 or 5 years.
This winter he traded the TC45, with less than 200 hrs on it, in on a TC55d. The first thing he did to that one is bend the rams on the loader in a perfect U. I'm not sure how he did that but I'm sure there was a tree involved somehow. After getting that fixed he was pushing down another tree and somehow it sprung back on him and ripped off the hood, steering wheel, dash and the loader controls and came with in inches of wiping him out.
We buy our tractors from the same dealer and he has told me that he has NEVER in his 30+ years of tractor sales seen the type of damage my father in law has done.
Has he learned his lesson? Probably not. Some say he has more money than sense. That may be true. But he loves his tractor......
Keep looking for future updates on the TC55d.
