Sounds like you got to spend time with the Jungle Eaters in Vietnam. I have a good friend of mine that worked with a group of them. The blade you mentioned is a KG Blade ore Rome blade made in Rome Georgia. They made alot of these tupes of blades. Ive seen the big ones with a stinger and a vee with a smooth side and a serrated sid to that went through the tree or sawed it.
I spent a few days with a KG blade on a clearing jo its alot of fun. But even a big dozer wont live long if not properly operated. I saw a new D7 break blade being used as a battering ram.

He did it again. He bent both of the hydraulic rams on the loader, AGAIN. He told me he was not doing anything out of the ordinary.(whatever that may be).

He said that the 55hp is too much for the rams and he said he'll telling the dealer to install larger ones. I'm sure they'll be scratching their heads on that one. But they will probably do whatever he asks because of all the tractors he buys from them.

Why not settle the issue once and forall and get a D9 H with a U blade and ripper. That'll make him happy cause sounds like everythin he's been operatin is used like one.

As a Caterpillar employee, I can tell you I have never seen anyone break a dozer in half, albeit you might be able to find someone who did if you ask a JD or Komatsu employee /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I love working for "big yellow" /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Why, can't Cat fix their own machines when they break in half? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks Cliff, I knew someone would interpret it that way /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

No worries, put any Cat machine up against any competitive machine, and in terms of being heavy-duty and made-to-last, there won't be any comparison. Anyway, these forums are for much smaller "tractors", so I'll be dropping the Cat discussion now, I just couldn't resist earlier when everyone got off on D6/D7/D9's!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
