With the pto shaft free, and spinning the blades from under, I don't hear the click.The only thing though is there is only a click when force is applied to the shaft by hand. If I just let it coast there is no click. I didn't take the pto off, just removed the shear bolt, and let it spin. The clip to fully remove was hard to reach.
I plan to "use it" and see. I'm straightening up some parts. Looks like someone hit a tree and twisted the a-frame and wheel. I got the wheel square but need about 5 degrees on the wheel mount to get it perpendicular to the deck. If the gearbox is good them my $600 spent will be ok. It needs new runners on the front though. The bottom is rusted away.
