Stopped by a dealer today and priced two FELs. One quote was $5000 for a Bush Hog 2446QT with a 72” bucket and bale spear. The other was $5700 for an Alo Quicke 720 with the same attachments. Both quotes are fully installed. I’d never heard of a Quicke loader until today. The dealer said that they make no more money on the Quicke than the Bush Hog but they highly recommended the Quicke over the Bush Hog. They claim that is what they have on their tractors that they use on the their farm. Anyone familiar with the Quicke brand? Is it worth the premium over the Bush Hog?

As far as I am concerned the Quicke loader is one of the best loaders made. They are a very well designed. I wish that they would make loaders for compact tractors, but they don't. The only bad thing that I have ever heard about Quicke loaders is that a very few models are a little harder to get on and off, but that was only on a very few models of tractors. This is just what I have heard (the hard part). I have never spoken to an owner that didn't like them.

Oh, my bad. This is for a 2WD Case-IH 685. I’ll be using it to load round bales. That’s the main reason for getting it. Of course, it’s hard telling what trouble I’ll get into with the bucket. I have a lot of “problem areas” on the farm that I’d be using it on. The dealer said this Quicke was well worth the premium over the Bush Hog. Glad you think it is a robust loader. Now to sell that other tractor. That’s hard to do this time of year.

I agree with your dealer in that the Quicke is worth the premium over the Bush Hog. In my part of the country, Quicke has established itself as one of the most popular, if not THE most popular, aftermarket loaders in the last ten years. They are a well-built loader.
