Mower looks to be in reasonably decent shape as much as I can tell from pictures.
Waiting on pictures of the underside to asses blade condition and type.
Seller is asking $950 and has dropped the price once.

Hello wirlybird,

Until you see what the flail mower shroud looks like and bang on the shroud near the welds
with a hammer to see if there is a dull thud to assure you the welds are good I would wait for the pictures.

This price is reasonable as the flail mower by itself for parts is a gold mine.

That's a steal of a price. You better smoke that one over really well.

Going to get the 25A flail today. We'll see how it is later and I'll post pictures!

It’s a good price. My somewhat larger JD390 used was $2400. I thought that was a great price.

So here it is. Overall decent shape.
One roller bearing is going out but the main rotating drum bearings seem to be good.
It is on my 756 and it is a load! It lifts it with some complaining!
I did run it and it cuts but the 756 just doesn't have the "oomph" to go at more than a crawl. Expected also.
So we'll refurb it and see where we end up. Keep for a bigger tractor or sell for a profit ... probably keep it!
Manual on order but I'd really be curious to find out what year it is.

A set of front suitcase weights will help keep front axle on the ground and improve steering & traction

I've got four on there now. All that will fit!

You know, I think there is a set of training wheels available for the Deere flail mowers.
They are tough to find, but that would help you, too.

The weight isn't so bad. It is the lack of power from my smaller Deere!
I think even with all new blades on the flail the ground speed will still be very slow so the engine is loaded down too much.
I pretty much figured this would be the case but the flail was a pretty good deal.
