Opinions on 25HP dsl w/ MMM under $7,500

Surprised it only has a 62" deck for 25+ diesel HP. Heck my little GT235 at 48" is only a 14" smaller cut swath. I wonder if a Deere 72" deck is available for a tractor like that?

I'm gonna need a 72" deck......and a way to clean that deck. Sounds like a bear to clean & sharpen blades.

No, Builder, it is 24hp and NOT available with a 72" deck. Only` 48", 54", and 62".

They are also over 14k new. They are too small for what you want, they are L&G tractors.

I would also suggest a JD 455 with all wheel steer (AWS). I think the biggest deck is only 60". But, with AWS it'll outmow larger decks where you have a lot of turns and landscaping to mow around. Also, a used one will go for less than $5000 in most cases. They are also awesome snow plows when working in tight spaces.

Or any of the JD 650, 750, 850 or the x55 HST equivalents are also out there for the money you want to spend.

Builder, you might want to take a look at MachineFinder.com. I saw several 655s, 755s, etc., some not to far from you, and close to your price range. Good luck in your search.

I'd personaly be looking at a used front mower. Resale value on these is terrible so you can buy a lot of mower for the money. I have a Deere 1145 / 72" deck for $5000. A really nice Kubota F2400 for $7400. Deere 935 for $3500

At the prices I'm finding even for used tractors w/ 72" mowers, I'm going to take another look at using a 84" rear finish mower for my Challenger.

I can get a pretty tough 84" or 90" Landpride finish mower for ~$3,000.

I think if I avoid mowing when wet, I can live with a "rough-cut" lawn along the long driveway and about 2.5 acres of pasture. Then what I can do is keep my little Deere 235GT for the 1-1.5 acres of "finish lawn" for the immediate area around the house.
