DiamondPilot, thats a nice looking truck!

Not quite sure I have not considered the Frontier yet. I like the look of the truck better than the Tundra.

Consumers reports was tough on it for a few years but it sounds like it had had any early issues dealt with from what I read on the net. I guess for some reason even though I have driven Hondas for the last decade, I've been stuck with the impression that for trucks one should only consider the 3 domestics. Seems like Toyota and Nissan may have being playing catchup for a while they both seem to have comparable products.

So far the F150 is winning out for me but I still need to check out the Titan and the Tundra.

I guess it is personal preference but I don't consider the Ridgeline truck enough either. Being a Honda fan, I was quite dissapointed that they didn't go the extra mile for a proper 1//2 ton like Toyota.

I imagine that there is a niche that the Ridgeline fits nicely. The cab just isn't big enough for me and I don't think there is enough grunt in the engine (believe it is the same one as in my Odyssey) for a truck.

About the Titan.... a couple of people have told me that Nissan has decided to stop building trucks and is going to let Dodge do it for them from now on. Anyone else hear that?

I really like the Ford products also. I was always interested in the Titan and finally pulled the trigger. Drove the Toyota and even a GM but no Dodge this time around. Really like the new F-150 but they are really proud of them just like Toyota. Don't care at all for a GM in a truck, the cars are ok but nothing to right home about. Was not about to drop any money on a Dodge. Had one a few years back and was less than impressed and even though we all hear about GM being in all this trouble I feel Dodge will be the one not to make it.

I really don't feel Nissan was behind at all. Seems to me they made the others step up. They were the first ones with a 300+HP 5._ liter motor, first to tow more than 9,000#, first with bed rail system, first with center shift, first with factory sprayed in bed liner, first with a real electronic locker, all this back in 2004. The only real problems I have heard on them is some excessive brake ware and rear end problems that was solved after the 2005 model year with a new pinion or something like that.

That was the rumor before the "crisis". The deal was Dodge was going to build them in exchange for Nissan engines for the small and mid sized cars. Kind of like when everything Dodge had a Mitsubishi under the hood. Not sure if its still a go but I figure I got a good one, not a re-badged Dodge. Another reason I got one now.

I drive a 04 dodge 2500 with a 5.7 ... cat back, cai, 410's with ls

negative - parking in tight spots sux, gas mileage sux, if ya have short legs sux :D, 2 tracking in the woods sux

positive - can see over cars in traffic jams, dont get stuck in deep snow, get to look down on others :D, tows like a bear, 6000#'s + edge in an accident, grin factor passing cars, and of course just plain fun factor...

Hey nice pictures! I drove a 2006 2500 Ram with the 5.9 Cummins today. Really nice truck!

While I loved the sound of the diesel, driving it made me realize that it is just too big for what I am doing with it.

I'm still half thinking that I ought to wait around to see what diesel's come out in the 1/2 ton trucks. With the economy the way it is though, would not surprise me if GM and Dodge shelved their 1/2 ton diesels to save cost.

Hey, I understand. They have a place though. I currently have this Titan, well actually pick it up on Monday, and a 2004 F-250 and a 2006 F-350. Both the Superdutys are short bed extended cab 4x4's with the PowerStroke Diesels. The 3/4 and 1 ton trucks do many things better but the 1/2 tons shine in other areas.

Anyway we have had 4 vehicles for the last few years. The current 4th is a Saturn gas sipper used for daily commute.

I think you are right about the shelving of the 1/2 ton diesels. I have been watching all trucks really close since November and I can tell you the deals are not getting better. I feel they were in crisis mode back in Nov/Dec and now with the government help they are back to normal. While I feel I got a good deal on the Titan I bet I could have done better 2 months ago.
