Please provide any feedback good/bad about the Work Saver Post Hole Digger.

It comes with a 9" and 12" auger. $500.00 Canadian currency. About $400 u.s.

This will be to run off of my B2920

Thanks

That's an excellent price for new. But don't think I'd pay that for a used set. I believe mine - with two augers, spare cutting edges, spare spiral point, spare shear bolts - was about $600 new.

I don't know much about the PHD, but in general Work Saver stuff is decent, not the best available, but not the most expensive either. If I were a contractor using something every day I would consider higher end equipment, but for occasional use or lighter duty it should be fine.

I have a Work Saver rear blade that I went over the welds a second time before starting to use it and it is holding up well under fairly heavy use eight years later. I only paid around $150 for it new, the 6 foot model. I also have a set of pallet forks, Farm Star I believe is the label, made by Work Saver. They replace my loader bucket not the screw on type and they are great after several years of abuse.

Work Saver equipment is often not quite as well done in the fit and finish area but I won't pay half again as much for pretty welds.

Where are you guys finding a PHD with 2 augers for $600? I've been looking and the only 1 I've seen that cheap is the Lienbach 7200JR, a couple dealers have it for $425 with 1 free auger, 2nd Auger is $100, so with shipping its about $675. Is Worksaver better than Lienbach? I have a Massey Ferguson GC2310 TLB sub compact tractor...it'll be my first experience with one...my local dealer has a Taylor Pittsburgh for $740 with 1 auger, says they made the ones for Massey...Tractor Supply has theirs for $460 with NO Auger, add $280 for 9 & 12 " augers for total of $740, but it looks too big for my machine...anyone lend any help?

I have a Farm Star PHD (same company, I believe) that has worked fine for me. Used it to dig 75 holes for a fence I finished this Spring. I did lose a small part--some kind of little pin--in the middle of my project and emailed Farm Star asking about a replacement part. I had a phone message a few days later from a lady saying she had just dropped the part in the mail and I got it in the next day or two--no bill, no charge. A small issue, but great customer service.

Doesn't sound like a bad price two augers alone are 200-300 US.

I think TSC (Canada) had them in their flyer last week for $500 without the auger. The auger was sold separately. So $500 with two augers is a deal.

I have the Leinbach Jr. and run it on a BX 23. No complaints. I have the 12 inch and 6 inch augers. I have punched a couplle hundred holes with it.

my local TSC wants $500 just for the PHD and another $150 per auger.
60 miles south at a locally owned farm store the phd is $369 and the bits are about $50 cheaper as well.

I picked up a used Work Saver PHD for about 400$ with 3 augers last year. Cant complain on the quality of the unit works great. No issues running behind my BX24 i think the unit is the one made for the smaller machines
