I have done some research and most reviews seem to be positive in regards to the Toro Time Cutter ZX ZTR.

I curious if anyone has any thoughts on this model good or bad preferably individuals that have this model or tested/compared it to other brands.

Specific model in interest is the ZX440 - 44" cut w/ 18hp Kohler.

Local dealer seems to be fine with me testing the model out at my property prior to purchase.

Had one for the past 4 years. No trouble. Runs great and I have used it hard. Neighbor just bought one. There are two Ferris's in the area and I can't justify the money they cost. bcs

Probably not a good comparison, since my Toro is the little 38" model with a 14 hp Briggs engine, but I've had it over 2 years (8/30/2004) and all I've had to do to it is change oil & clean the air filter so far.

I just took delivery of a new Timecutter ZX 48", 20Hp Briggs. IF you want the 44" you had better get it now as I understand it won't be offered next year. I was going to put the 60" belly mower on my BX24 but the ZTR offered me a lot of flexibility I couldn't get with pulling a mower deck on and off of the tractor.
