Well folks I started out my retirement trying to get someone to build me a 24x24 garage stick built. I am having no luck finding anyone local that has the time to do this. I have also looked into pole buildings and could make this work it would take a little more to finish the inside down the road BUT at least i would have a garage instead of paying for storage. I have the local rep from PermaBilt contacting me about this but am not sure how they are anyone work with them??

I haven't used them (they work Western Washington) but based on their website I would have no qualms working with them.

Meaning, contact and decide if the people you encounter suit you. Website certainly looks good.

18 grand (special) doesn't even sound bad for a 20x24 with 4" concrete floor:

I have a 24 X 32 metal building that I had built about 15 years ago. The basic price was about 10,000, but I managed to run it up to about $17k, wired and insulated with a lean-to. It has a concrete floor, and a 16' overhead door. It is not a Permabuilt, but I am really happy with it. Like the man said, 18 grand doesn't sound bad to me either.

Sorry for the bad experience with them, sounds like you are ending up okay though. Good luck.
