People tend to forget about insurance and in some states stickers and personal property taxes when they "trade up" to newer vehicles. I am of the mindset to keep what I have if I know the history of it.

Yes, newer vehicle prices are bottoming out, but reality is you will still pay more for something you already have.

You have a great and reliable truck, tested over the time. Why would you get rid of it?

My daily driver is 86 CJ7, fixed to perfection. Sure Rubicons and Rubicons with 4 doors look tempting, but I stick to old friends:)

Thanks for all your input to my original post, but the decision has been made ...for me, as I center punched the largest mule deer buck I have ever seen while in Utah last week on vacation.

Hit it doing about 60. Fortunately no consequences other than the insurance company declaring the truck totaled.

I was "lucky" enough that there was no damage that prevented me from pulling my trailer home for 600 miles (after using a lot of bailing wire, screws and some duct tape).

The deer did $6,666.34 in damage! Yeah, he had a bad day also.

Oh MAN! at least no one got hurt. Were you towing at the time you hit the deer ? at least you made it home with out additional large expenses. now you can get your dream truck:D

No, we were staying at Kodachrome Basin and did a day trip to Bryce Canyon. It was after dark.

Well I guess that deer was so in favor of you buying a new truck that he wrecked your old one! Good luck and have fun shopping for a new one!
