First off, thanks for all the informative comments, they did help with making my decision. Right or wrong, I'm going with the new LS. I guess whenever you write a large check for whatever you're buying, whatever the color, you're taking a little leap of faith. Every buck counts around here so I did my research. I even talked to a diesel mechanic I know about the Mitsubishi line of engines and he had nothing but positive comments to say about them. My green/yellow neighbor who is currently leasing our pasture is going to be comically unhappy with my decision but something like his 6420/Cab is a *little* out of my budget :) I can only pray I'll get him out of a bad spot one day. Once I get the machine and use it for a while I'll write a review in the LS forum. Thanks again.

Oh, and I have the Wife Approved stamp. Forgot to mention that.

The best tractor, is the one that's best for YOU. I'm sure your neighbor will get over you buying a LS:laughing: You could always repaint it green.

Good luck with your new wife approved machine!

Buy the new LS with the warranty, if the NH or JD have a hydrostat problem, and not knowing how they were taken care of and how they were serviced, the trans could cost you anywhere from $6k to $10k to repair and while both the Shibaura and Yankees mar motors are good, if they were worked hard and over revved a lot and not serviced well could cost you well into the $7k to $10k to replace them, you can't buy a service warranty on a used tractor except a John Deere for a used John Deere tractor that they are selling, the new LS has a two year bumper to bumper warranty and an additional three year power train warranty, they have a great finance plan and if you pass on the financing, you can get a great cash discount...shop around, the LS dealers will deal with you, just like new car dealers, the profit is in the used cars and in this case the used tractors!! Good luck, let us know what you defied to do. RM
