Seems like a hard way to dig a trench. What do you do? Dig, lift, drive off to the side, dump, drive back to the ditch and dig again? Seems like just using a shovel would be faster.

Since you have to already have forks for it to work, what's the advantage for picking stuff up?

My experience with buying stuff from Northern is that it's light duty, thin, and usually a disapointment unless it's a name brand product.

Ya I kinda thought that too. The only advantage I could see was maybe digging out heavy rocks or digging around a stump. I suppose it would be helpful to someone with a bad back. Weight can say a lot about a product and this only weighs 40lbs.

I had one and broke it. It separated at the welds and then the bottom peeled back. In their defense though, my forks were too thick for it and didn't slide in far enough to bottom out. That may have contributed to it breaking.

It's only $127 from Northern tool... not sure if I want to take the gamble or not. The only thing I would use it for would be digging out rocks or if I needed a long shallow trench. If it works, it would come in handy digging a 50foot trench.

Maybe I would be better off spending a little more for the heavy duty one from Bucket Solutions.

I have one of those. Great for digging up and moving trees and small rocks. I found it to slow for trench digging. Much faster and less hassle to use the FEL.

I lone it out a lot and everyone loves using it.

Your detailed thread title.
Yes, I have opinions.

Soooo... you don't like my title? You couldn't figure out that I was asking for opinions? You got up on the wrong side of the bed? What?

I think it might be faster to dig a trench by hand, but very tough on this tired old body. I can see where it would come in handy planting trees.

Thanks for the input folks.

Nope, I'm tired of people posting threads like "Opinions" without telling us more about opinions on WHAT.
It was EASY to tell you were asking for opinions, but what attachment?
Obviously you can't tell the difference.

I wrote in my message that I wanted opinions on this product... I don't know what your problem is but you obviously have some kinfd of "chip on your shoulder." If you don't want to comment then don't. There is really no reason for you ro be an ***. Sounds to me like you are just tired of people.

Dustin,

I think most people have a limited time to surf the web and if you would have just typed a couple of more descriptive words in your title, it would have saved hundreds of people who have no interest in your actual subject from opening your thread. We had to open it and read It to find that out. TBN is a helpful group and many would rather invest their time opening a provocatively titled thread than miss something they could help with. You have to meet them halfway.

That's the problem. It is good practice to have the attachment name in the title. Hundreds of readers with no opinion on the spade will be opening the message to see what it is about. They resent vague titles when they have to open the post to see what it is about.

Note the thread titles in the attachment below:

Thank you for pointing that out BCP and jmc. I did not realize I was being impolite. I don't understand why someone else could not have explained it to me instead of being a jerk.

As a practice exercise, you may want to start another thread entitled "Which one of us was a jerk?".
