That ring would just bend tall stuff down and the blades woiuld miss most of it. The reviews are almost all negative.

It looks like anything that is going to get cut will have to, somehow or other, be inside the ring where the blades are. It might work on shorter grass but any tall stuff will probably be - no joy.

I modified my big Stihl FS350 by having hardened steel blades made for the head that normally uses the three swinging nylon blades. It will now cut anything from grass up to 1" saplings easily.
