One reason that I got a 2320 vice a 2520 was its greater ground clearance.
My knob makes it fun to drive especially when plowing snow. One cravat, it won't stay in place. For example if you install it at 12 o'clock when driving forwards, the next time you start the engine you'll find that driving forwards puts the knob at 3 o'clock on the wheel.
Tip -when cold starting it in cold weather first put the drive in gear and then turn the key to start for three seconds. It won't start or turn over because it's in drive but it will warm the glowplugs. Then put it in in neutral and start it normally.
Tip2 -be sure to use diesel anti-gel in cold weather. I've had my fuel filter gel up and restrict fuel flow at 32 degrees.
tip3 -There's more to worry about than belly clearance. One time this summer I had a small tree stump (about 8 inches) gouge into the tire between the rubber and the steel. It broke the bead and gave me an instant flat tire. Of course that could happen to any tractor, atv etc that's driving on uncleared ground.

What's the cost of the 48" Ryan 3pt aerator, if you don't mind me asking? It looks like a great unit. Have you considered others? I've been looking into the Frontier CA1048 or the Landpride CA2548--both running around $2K. These units aren't as heavy as the Ryan but you can easily add weights.

Thanks Jake. I can't believe you're 15 and making those implements.

Good for you.

Thanks. :) Its taken a lot of hard work but it is well worth it. While most kids are still playing video games, I'm starting my own business already. :D Im working on a professinal series and a skidsteer model as well as an ATV model.

Good tips. Especially on the fuel additive. I'll ve getting some next week. I have plenty of regular fuel conditioner but find out I need a special sauce for diesel. The unit came with a full tank o' gas from the dealer too.

One thing people probably don't do often is check air pressures in the tires. I have several ride on units with turf flotation tires and if they are low it's easy to knock it off the bead and and hard to get it to air up when it does especially if you drove on the flat at all.

The 36 is about 2600 and the 48 is actually about 3200 dollars.

I know this unit and know it does a great job from past experience, and have also bought aerators I thought would do a good job and was dissatisfied, so I'm not going to risk it with this deal.

I prefer to have the unit itself weigh a lot as opposed to getting a bunch of weights and from what I see you'd need 3-400 pounds of weight on most of the less than 2 grand units to match the ryan. I know of several others for half the ryan cost like the frontier, and if you're doing the home lawn or a few here and there maybe that's ok, and not worth the additional expense but I have a lot of aeration's.

Plus the ryan is green and matches the tractor.

Color coordination is very important.
