Oregon Drivers Can Now Learn To Pump Their Own Gas

That happened to me and I was inside the station at the time. This was during the $4.xx prices. A guy at another pump spotted it and turned it off. I still had to pay was on the meter though.

As for diesel in a gas tank. The only way that can happen is if the wrong nozzle is on the pump. In which case the station is responsible for the damage.

It was a 1968 Ford Mustang and a 1930 Model A... no filler restrictions as these vehicles do not have a Catalytic Converter.

When did they standardize on the driver's side? My wife's car is a '15 and it's on the passenger side. Never noticed an arrow before...I'll have to look next time I drive her car.
Maybe I am wrong...any vehicle I have seen in the past 8 years was driver side fill and judging from how they line up at my mega-station they all fill from that side. As for the "arrow", like I said many people never noticed it but I don't recall seeing any vehicle built in the past 20 years that didn't have it. It's usually at the bottom of your inside fuel gauge.

My 2017 Ford Escape Titanium has the fuel fill on the right hand side; not the driver's side. Our 2012 Escape has it on the driver's side

Many vehicles have fill on right. I rule them out when buying.

My Ford Ranger is on the left side, the Subaru on right. Im that other person you see getting back in the rig, if the hose won't reach around to the other side.

Subaru on right? Darn, was going to consider one.

ok...enough examples showing that I was wrong and there is no uniformity. But in my defense I'm guessing you still have the "arrow" on your gas gauge!

From the drivers seat, the fuel guage to the right of steering wheel indicates fuel filler door on passenger side of vehicle. If fuel guage is to the left of steering wheel fuel filler on driver side. Only standardization I know of.

Ok, im going to have to check that one out. I do have arrows though and after a fashion, figured out they pointed to the side where the filler was.
