I don't have a lot to add. I agree with the idea that sometimes prolonged life can be more painful than untimely death. My father died of Alzeimers a couple of years ago and it was indeed torture to watch his body persist whilst nobody was "home".
I too have been somewhat ambivilent about the donor issue, but the more I read, the more convinced I become that I would be fine with someone else using what I have no further need for. From the statistics it seems that there is far more demand than supply, so, I'll definately check the box off next time I renew my drivers license....
Anyway, that said, a sincere thanks to all TBNers who take the time to share their valuable personal perspectives and experiences. One never really knows how someone else might be affected or even inspired by what one says or does, this board included.
