Ostrich, Bison and alligator - mmm good

I became cautious about the ostrich craze when an emu (I believe related to ostriches.) jumped its pen and started running amuck in the local neighborhood. A MA state police officer (who tend to be big ) tried to "subdue" it and got put on disability leave after it beat the **** out of that officer. Those big birds will literally "kick your butt"! I will eat them though and I like it . Jay

Yes, they will. They are big and dirty too. I like the Dirty Jobs episode where Mike Rowe had to wrangle ostriches. My neighbor had three of them that belonged to his sister. His sister passed away and he was "stuck" with them for several years afterward. Maybe all birds are that dirty, but because the ostrich is so big, you just are able to see how filthy they are. I just could not bring myself to raise big, dirty, and dangerous birds like that. Beef is so much easier.
