I've got a 14" chop saw, and a small floor model bandsaw. Both came from Harbor Freight, and both are pretty darned decent. I'd take a look on www.harborfreight.com for a cutting torch...I believe they have a Victor torch kit for about $150. The gas bottles will run you about $150-200 also.

I'm still not sure on the cylinder. I might have to make a little tower in the center of the back, top of the bucket and then fasten it from there to the center finger.

So, the cylinder will pull it shut and push it open? The opposite would be best in terms of force...however, it'll close faster than it will open, and force probably isn't that much of a concern with a grapple anyway...at least not on the scale we're talking about. Cool...post pics when you get going on it!

No, it will push it shut and pull it open. The Cylinder will be attached on top of the center finger on one end and on the little tower sticking up off the top of the back of the bucket on the other end.... boy, a picture IS worth a thousand words(probably written by someone like me with a limited vocabulary and poor writing skiils /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)
