other rem 760 ( .270 pump ) owners?

Been a good week for finding deals,Sat bought Speeco tractor mounted t-post puller for $2.04. Now today bought this 760 in OTT-6 for $250 came with scope(lighted). Working now ain't had to much time too look it over . :dance1:

Looks like a pretty good gun Boone. One of the older ones from the look of the fore stock. I'd say the scope alone was worth a couple hundred bucks.

Right chilly (pun intended) up here now my friend. We've had 0 F weather here for a week or so, plus the wind chill. -30 C (F=??) with wind chill today. The horses are NOT impressed, been cooped up in the barn all week. We put 'em out tonight to clean the stalls, they weren't shy about coming back in for supper.

I built a fire in the woodstove when we got home, now I'm lounging around in shorts, it being almost 75 F in the house :thumbsup:

I have a gun safe full of 7600 pump action Remington rifles and 1 carbine, 2 of them are 270's and they are by far my favorite, I have killed a truck load of bucks ahead of running hounds through the years, more when I was younger and faster than today. I have also tried the semi automatic version, the 7400 and wouldn't give a plug nickel for a cowpen full of those, the ones I have jammed regularly while my pumps have always worked flawlessly.

My opinion as well. The pumps are more accurate in my opinion as well.

I do prefr the pump.. the 7400.. they have that lil plastic deflector by the bolt handle.. seems like it's always getting damaged..

Had a chance to check over scope its no big deal but its a Bushnel Banner that has a light option.

Nothing wrong with the Banner, mine's an old Bushnell Scopechief that has given me zero trouble over the 20 years I've owned it. Every time I think I should get another rifle and scope combo, I end up saying "Come on.. you don't use the one you've got now.."
