NJRQS:

Thanks for your comments. About the truck:

It is a 2001 Toyota Tacoma Doublecab. I think 2001 was the first year for this model over here in the US. It was (is) perfect for us and our baby girl. We can get her in and out as easy a car and still have the utility of a truck bed.

I'm pretty sure that Toyota has had this model overseas a lot longer. I say that because soon after 9-11-2001, we were watching the news and they showed the Taliban in Afganistan using one (But an earlier model of Tacoma, maybe early 90s) of them to cross a path in the mountains. For a time being after that, my dad and my father-in-law took to calling it the "Taliban Truck."

The pond is in our 10-year plan. The farmer next door really wishes it was in the 10-week plan. Every time it rains hard here, his field gets washed out and makes farming it rather difficult. I would like to help him out sooner, but there are other things that need to be done before, like a barn or equipment shed. Thanks for your kind comments.

Yep we had that shape over here from approx. 1999 I'd say. It changed very little from the previous shape (that I have) which we have had unchanged from approx 1989.

The dual cabs are pretty handy.

What engines do you have in them?

We get a 2.7litre petrol, a 3.0L diesel or a 3.0L Turbo Diesel? (All 4 cylinders)

I think you get a V6?

Jim, your place looks great! Congratulations on being in already. We hope to be moving in two weeks.

I love your rear entry garage. That's what we're doing as well. Makes for a long drive but that's more tractor time, isn't it /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

They have three engines you can get them in:

2.4L 4-cylinder -- 142 HP
2.7L 4-cylinder -- 150 HP
3.4L 6-cylinder -- 190 HP

I have the 3.4L V-6 in our truck. It is peppy and quiet. I don't know of any diesel Toyotas over here in the states. Sounds neat that you have that option over there. The way diesel picks sell over here, especially in rural Ohio, I bet Toyota could pick up some more market share with a diesel, especially in their full-size Tundra pickups.

With the long driveway, I am sure glad we bought the 16LA loader with the tractor. I have used that loader for driveway maintenance along with over activities as much as I have used the mower.

Thanks for the comment on the back-entry for the garage. Its something my wife and I really like about the house. From what I can see on your posts about your house, you will be moving into a beautiful house soon. As I'm sure you know, the new house is a lot of work, but I hated the moving the most! My overwhelming thought during the entire moving process was: "How did we get this much stuff!!???"

Sounds like the 2.7L that we have. The 2.4L dissappered from the 4x4's but is still in the 2x4's I think.

Diesel is a HUGE seller over here with the cost of fuel and the amount of rural use.

Cheers
