I like the twist shifter better, THe WA 250 had a manual and auto matic gear change button it auto shifted which i hated I liked the manual because it could be held at speed, the automatic stayed wound up and was always in the wrong gear. Just push the maunual button on it and when the light came on you were set to shift. The thing i hated with the other little gear chnge lever when loading was id knock it in a higher gear when id shuttle shift. I just put a load leveller on one last week when you road it and it gets to bouncin like this~~~~~~~ you push a button and it lets a nitrogen gas hydraulic accumulator tahole the bucket level you get a small sway for a second and the bucket stays in almost in position. Youd think it would be a rough ride but it takes all the bump and bounce out of it. I used to hate taking the 250 down a rough haul road at about 18 mph hard to set in the seat. Buda and AC motors were kinda bad about the black smoke rolling when called on but they are great engines.I used to run a 6-110 detroit in a HD20 AC dozer folks ask why is that special and i tell them 6 cylinders at 110 cubic inches per cylinder and they gt the point. Ive got a few pics of old AC ship engines that used to be the worlds largest.
