Out of commission-broken ankle

I have the next few weeks of sitting on my butt checking out the tractor by net articles and planning my projects for the year. I broke my ankle in three places (Not a tractor related injury) and I am not allowed (not that I could) to drive for a few weeks. Keep the posts going and make sure you guys add the pictures so I have something to keep me busy. I hope it doesn't snow until I am back in action !

Wow, sorry to hear. Where in NEPA are you from? I'll give you one guess where I'm located.

Ouch, been there, done that. I had a hockey break a few years back. Plate with screws on the outside and a couple of screws on the inside. Supposed to be a 12 week deal but I think I pared a week or two off. Ended up driving my stick truck one-legged for most of that time, and only used handicap parking for the first day or so. Be careful with crutches, if you don't use them right you can do some serious damage to your arms! I pushed hard and came out on top, a buddy had a similar break and his didn't knit. He had to have it re-seated. Much longer than mine, not sure why his didn't go well.

Thanks everyone. I am looking at 6-8 weeks and I will be back to working on my projects. This will give me more time to get ideas on projects/tools/equipment etc.

Egon, good one! TV.......i have a preschooler; the only TV I see is on the cartoon channels!

Hope your ankle heals well. About 4 years ago I had a minor back surgery and was told not to do anything for 6 to 8 weeks. I thought that it was going to be great having an excuse to watch TV and surf the internet for that time. I set up the recliner with my laptop and remote control and was ready to relax. It was great for about the first 4 hours and then after that it sucked. Boring. Hope yours goes better.
