Man I broke mine about 10 years ago. Of all things playing paintball. I didn't see that hole in the ground as I was running down a hill. I remember hearing it break, then after I fell, looked at my knee pointing one way and my foot the other (you'd think someone almost 50 would know better). It was in wintertime also and had to wait it out at home for a few weeks until I could get around.
After the pins and various hardware to keep it together, it doesn't have much movement, but other than that it's ok now.
Just don't park in a handicap spot unless your car is registered. I knew better, but parked in one when I had a cast all the way up to my , well anyhow, a long cast. Came out of the store and a ticket was on the window. Went to court (downtown Memphis) complete with cast and crutches, only to be told to pay the fine on the way out. Those spots are for handicap registered vehicles, not for handicapped people. It's funny now, but sure wasn't then.
