Out of fuel

I'm the owner of a new (used) TC33D. Just ran out of fuel. Cannot get it started. Seems to be flooded. What should I do. Help please. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You have to bleed the fuel system. The instructions are in your Operator's Manual.

I kind of doubt if it's flooded. I don't know if it's possible to flood a fuel injected diesel. Unless it's a Deere, most diesels that run out of fuel end up with an air bubble in the fuel system somewhere. You usually need to open up the fuel filter and let fuel flow until it comes out with no bubbles. Then do the same thing downstream at the distribution box for the injectors, and maybe even with each injector.

The first time I ran my little 'bota dry it was in the middle of a briar patch as dark was coming on and a storm was brewing. I was not a happy camper by the time I got it all sorted out and running again. The second time was a lot easier, but still not fun since I was on the edge of a gullyand the side of a hill.

Rich described how to do it. It's messy which is why you don't want to do it often. I fill the tank at the end of each session of using the tractor. I also keep an eye on the fuel gauge.

Yep, I ran my Kubota out once and a neighbor ran it out once. Takes 10 minutes or less, after you know what you're doing. Like Rich said, make sure you have the fuel filter bowl full of fuel, then on the Kubota, at least, just loosen the line at an injector a little bit, hit the starter, and when you see fuel with no bubbles coming out (only a couple of seconds in my case), re-tighten the line, go to the next injector and do the same. After you've done all of them, it should start right up.

Like the others said, make sure you got fuel in the clear filter area. Once you got good flow to it, follow the line up to the front of the engine and it goes into a connector with a bolt in it. Losen the bolt a little and fuel should come out, let it drain until there are no air bubbles. Once it does, close the bolt and you should be good to go.

Bleeder is on top of injector pump; looks like a bolt head; loosen it and crank engine; fuel will flow and it should start. Close bleeder when no more air or when you get only fuel.

I'm not sure how similar your unit is to my 7610s.. but on mine.. I turn on fuel at the tank, and then on the fliter assembly, I open the water drain cock on the bottom till fuel comes out, then I have a black plastic knob that i open ont he filter caddy. With this open, I turn the key over till the fuel pump comes on.. fuel and air bubble from this.. then after a second or so.. just fuel. Close that knob. now.. follow that fuel line.. on mine it goes to yet another filter.. this one with a sedimnet bown and water trap... open the bottom cock till fuel flows with the fuel pump still running.

Last step is to crank her over... Might run rough or on partial cylinders for a few seconds.. but should take off after that.
