Kubota L4240
Messick's delivered my new L4240 today.
Took away the L3800
The L4240 is equipped with open station, HST+, Loader, Quick attach, Back hoe, three rear remotes, T&T, R4s beet filled rears, set of filters, WSM, Parts manual
What a difference in machines.

Neil Messick was fantastic to work with, excellent communication, fair price, even a full tank of fuel (although I was told they don't normally do that)

Someone's going to get a really nice L3800

I just noticed I'll need to change my signature.

Congratulations, the thumb on the backhoe will be handy.

Nice machine! What's the new tractor's first project?

Congratulations, I am a big fan of the Grand L Series, very capable machines and you just can't beat the HST+, it takes a while to learn the full benefits, but well worth it.

Nice machine! What's the new tractor's first project?

Well a gentle first couple of hours hauling some items up and down the mountain. I haven't put stone on my access road yet. So if its rained hard in the last 24 hours you're not driving even a well equipped truck up it.

Then a few more hours gently digging a couple of ditches to control some drainage.
We received so much rain my access road turned into a creek.

I think this will get dug out deeper and much wider, 10 or 12 inches of 3 inch plus stone topped with fabric and then crusher run.
I don't think a culvert will work, its too wide of an area to funnel into a culvert.

A culvert would work on this one.
DOT is going to drop a used one off for me to use.

LOVE the backhoe!! I'm envious! I want one on my 4240 but don't think I would be happy with the install/deinstall.

Have you had a chance to get a feel for the strength of it (the backhoe) yet?

Just a little......I've been trying to take it easy until its broken in.
Although I did dig up a couple of two foot plus diameter boulders. The hoe picked them up no problem.

I'm not sure why you would have an issue taking the hoe on and off?
On my L3800 it only took less that ten minuets to remove or reinstall the hoe.
I can't imagine the larger hoe would be any different. Probably easier since everything is larger.

Of course you don't want to be switching back and forth between three point attachments and the hoe every hour.

Although if you have a cab visibility backing up to the hoe could be an issue.
