Just a little......I've been trying to take it easy until its broken in.
Although I did dig up a couple of two foot plus diameter boulders. The hoe picked them up no problem.

I'm not sure why you would have an issue taking the hoe on and off?
On my L3800 it only took less that ten minuets to remove or reinstall the hoe.
I can't imagine the larger hoe would be any different. Probably easier since everything is larger.

Of course you don't want to be switching back and forth between three point attachments and the hoe every hour.

Although if you have a cab visibility backing up to the hoe could be an issue.

I do have a cab but can open the back glass. I can't remember if there would be a major "split" to install the backhoe frame since
I did not buy it on the front end... oh well... it's not truly an issue right now because I need to pay this one (4240) and the new BX
off before I go spending that much in upgrades!

I'm happy for you- it looks great (and works better I'm sure!). I do LOVE my cab!!!!

Unless you would use the hoe often, you'd be better off renting an small track hoe.

The hoe and mounting kits are 9k......you could rent a small track hoe for a weekly rental of 1k or daily rental $350
A track hoe is much more productive than a back hoe.

Messick's delivered my new L4240 today.
Took away the L3800
The L4240 is equipped with open station, HST+, Loader, Quick attach, Back hoe, three rear remotes, T&T, R4s beet filled rears, set of filters, WSM, Parts manual
What a difference in machines.

Neil Messick was fantastic to work with, excellent communication, fair price, even a full tank of fuel (although I was told they don't normally do that)

Someone's going to get a really nice L3800

I just noticed I'll need to change my signature.

Congrats, I am jealous. I wish I could find a new l4240 locally. Seem all gone.

that was my last one. I still have several L3940's.

I guess I am getting into the tractor game a little too late. Although I would be okay with the l4060 except for the hydraulics routing on smaller l60 machines.

I think with more time Kubota will improve that a little. In fact, I will bet that some of the Kubato engineers were not happy with what they ended up releasing in that regard.

In the meantime maybe some clever aftermarket fabrication will show up to protect the hoses, esp the lowest ones.
