Outdoor shower

   / Outdoor shower #21
When we moved to Maine- did it on a shoestring. Came up to our 19 acres and lived in a popup tent trailer while I built the house. Kids were 3, 5. They had baths in a wash tub. Cats and dog slept under the trailer. Horse and pony had a small fenced area. That was my first time hearing loons and whippoorwills at night. And the stars were something else. That first week I found a 13' dug well under some apple trees that had been filled in with rock. Cleaned it out and the water was good. We used that for 8 years until we started having droughts- then had a 60' well drilled. Water- what a luxury to have!

I know jeepers, or offroading nuts, build their own camping showers by pumping water through jeep radiator. Old jeep radiators, like from a CJ, have transmission cooling snake built in on the bottom, but stick shift has no use for it.
It is much less water than normal shower of course, the tubing is smaller, but it is amazing how little water you need when you really need to get clean and nothing better is out there :)

LOL, I take a shower sometimes in the middle of the night if I can't sleep. It helps. Anyway, convinced my wife to go and shower with me to help her sleep - she did try it, but to say she did not like it is understatement:)

My wife had been on me for years to build one at our weekend place, finally got around to it last summer. Other than our lake its probably the most used thing at the cabin. I get chiggers bad, so if I am out for a few hours doing whatever, I just jump in, rinse off, grab some dry shorts and Im done. I just tapped off the hot/cold drains under the cabin, buried 2 garden hoses in a 3" pipe under the gravel patio, under the shed and attached it to the back of the shed. Then just plumbed it up with copper. May see a little of it behind the tractors in the member photo on the posts. In fact the other day when we were out I said "I have to admit you were right about the shower".!!

What is the brand and model number for the water heater. I could not find it searching their website.
Aging Too Fast: "Portable tankless unit" Model L5, sku 107295655 is listed in the plumbing section on page 2 of their web site. I see they now have a larger unit for $10 more.

My property has a caravan for living in and has two showers and a bath. The water is heated by a solar HWS that was originaly on my town house that was replaced due to a leak in a panel. The original shower is on the verandah post at the front of the caravan. This is the one I use as mostly I visit alone.

The bath used to be heated by a fire underneath. When you had to change cheeks too often, you just throw some water on the fire. It is now next to the back of the caravan. This was due to having a crowd visit to camp and there were toddlers to bath. The water is fed from a hand shower that can also be used as a shower. This is for the bashful members of the crowd.

We have an arrangement that when in use, everyone else stays at the front of the van.

Having the luxury of a hot shower any time is fantastic. Previously I had a bucket bath then progressed to a coil of poly pipe on the roof. The problem was that the water got cold again after about 1600.

I have been using the hose outside in these temps a 100' of hose is too hot if it is full sun out to use. after the hose is half empty it gets pretty good and will knock off the sweat and grass.

Usually s couple time a day over couple weekends ago 10 am hit it the first time, then 1130 then 1220 and about every 20 min after that till 6 pm was a busy day and was dry after 10 min well sweat was running off me after 10 min anyway lol...
