Outrigger levers Ford 4500 industrial stuck together

I’m working on my Ford 4500 industrial just got hose replaced from backhoe to manifold cost a lot more than I was quoted but I got screwed. It is what it is anyway my outrigger levers seem to be sticking together. I can’t get them to work independently it’s very difficult. What is the repair for this?

Sticking together? So if you operate the right stabilizer, the left will move too?
The levers are located on opposite sides of the controls and the valve. Just trying to figure out how this is happening.

Yes, they’re on opposite sides. I don’t know how it’s happening. They’ve always been kind of sticky. I will send a picture later.

Being that the controls operate on a pivot rod and the bellcranks for the controls operate on another rod, I would look at the pivots for the stablizer controls at those two places. Look for the control and bellcrank pivoting on the shaft rather than the shaft pivoting with the movement of the controls.

Have no idea about your issue but... Next time you need a hydraulic hose made up, forget the dealer and go to Parker Hannifin or Aerquip or Motion Industries, one of them will have a retail - wholesale outlet close to you and they all make up custom hoses a heck of a lot cheaper than any dealer will soak you.

Thank you I will look at that. What do you think? Makes it jam up where both of them move with one lever or the other and they don’t move independently I will look at the top and bottom and see if I can see. Why it is happening. do you think it’s a matter of lubrication or mechanically jammed thanks again. You seem to be the only one answering me. I appreciate it.

That is the only thing I can think of that would cause both stabilizers to work together. The bushings in those pivots are nylon-type, but it is possible that the bushing is gone and things are binding. Lubrication will help.

On my 555E Ford backhoe, I had a cable get tight on me and it became very difficult to lower the left side. I had to hold the right side at the bare minimum, and push the left side as hard as I could to get them to both go down at the same time.

I replaced the cable, which I bought from Messicks.com It's a horrible job to replace them, but doable. Then it's very tricky to get it adjusted just right. If it's too tight or loose, it doesn't work at all. You have to keep playing with it until you get it to the only place it will work properly.

I've done both cables now and hope that I never have to do it again!!!
