You are crazy Dargo. I bet life is interesting at your house.
The garage is attached to the house and the heat losses from house keep it above 60 most of the time. The house and garage are made of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) and are equivalent to R50. The ceiling is R55. The garage door is R11 and between the house and the garage is R11. I average $30/month heating and cooling.
WHAT? $30 a month to heat and cool what? You must have meant $300, if not I'm moving next door to you. I average $700 a month and my tractors do not have a heated garage. I am in the middle of building a nice shed for the two of them. Couldn't even imagine what I would be paying if I had to heat that too.
It is about $30 a month. This was data from 10 to 15 years ago, and of course it has gone up some. I am not including my base electric (to run hotwater, pump, lights, etc.) which was about $100. The house is 3500 square feet. The ICF manufacturer guarantees a 75% reduction in heating and cooling versus conventional construction. It does cost about 6% more to build.
I installed solar panels for heating hot water last year and my summer bills have dropped about $70 per month.
