blue is almost always oil. white and black are unburned fuel with white also possibly being coolant/water

Hi! A man write: My diesel makes lots of blue smoke, but does not burn oil. My problem is that it makes a lot of blue smoke at anything over 1800 rpm. none below that It is never black or white smoke.
Blue smoke for gas engine is always from oil engine. But not always for a diesel because diesel fuel is a kind of oily
A very cold diesel engine can smoke blue. Bad injector can make some smoke. Diesel with low compression can makes blue smoke.
For our friend. How much blue smoke a little bit for a short time or a lot steady after 2200rpm is it the same thing on load If no smoke on load. If engine does not take oil. Just A little bit blue smoke can be from valve guide. No problem. Good luck! Oldmech
