Not quite solving your problem but jrpat mentioned about a garage door opening in it's own. I installed a wall switch which controls the receptacles the house and cottage garage doors are plugged into. When I leave the house or cottage I flip the switch off so if there's a errant signal or someone is trying to spoof the opener there's no power going to the receptacle. We're hearing about thieves capable of bypassing high end car security systems so I'd guess a garage door opener is at the low end of technical challenges.
