I recently purchased a Kubota L2250 with a dual clutch. Do I have to install an overrunning clutch when using a shredder? Thanks

Well, I'll take a guess since nobody else answered.

No

I assume a dual clutch is the same as a two stage clutch. If that's the case, then I think the PTO is disengaged when you depress the clutch and you can shift from forward to reverse without the "momentum" of the blades spinning and carrying you forward.

I had a Yanmar 1500 with single stage clutch and learned quickly that without the ORC, you really had to be on your toes and anticipate your stops.

My quess would also be No.
I'm not familiar with that particular machine, but most likely it has and internal overrunnig clutch.

Thanks. I was hoping for that answer since the PTO shaft has no hole for the roll pin of the overrunning clutch. I know I need one for my old Ford tractor. I'm new with this "modern" stuff. Albe

I think the two stage clutch was introduced (long ago) for precisely this issue, the tractor being powered by the spinning mass of the attachment. The marketers called it "independent pto", I think.

On my first Kubota (which had a 2-stage) , the main clutch wore quicker than the pto clutch - so after adjusting the linkage for the wear it got to a point where the pto no longer disengaged at full pedal travel. The answer was a new main clutch.
