have great tractor, 1982 kubota 5100. ten zillion hours and still going great. will out work my '46 case. just bought an Oliver with loader and gannon but it is running on three cylinders now, have not had time to dig into it. paid $500 for it with four new tires. works okay in 1st gear but no power in other gears. buyer wants to buy case to restore so will probable sell it.
personal: 81 years old, retired and have been diagnosed as retarded by wife of 28 years. restoring a '76 sears with tecumseh engine but having trouble finding a shop manual for it. has electronic ignition on it now but don't know if original or not. no spark but without manual don't know where to go next.
Worked overseas for 22 years just following the grapes that ITT, Craddock Engnrs, my own company, Liberian Telephone Co, etc., went to pick. 14 years working as police officer until I fell off of a motorcycle when nice older gentleman turned in front of me. few years with Ma Bell learning telephone stuff. Went to small engine repair school courtesy of California Workmen's Comp when I had to quit part time police dispatcher job. do a lot of handyman work for the widows in the community i live in so pick up some beer money.
Current project is trying to hook up garage door opener motor to operate a roll up bamboo shade on my patio. shade rolls up on old RV awning cylinder that i have rigged up to turn with swamp cooler belt pulley and rope. if anyone knows how to wire it so that it will operate with up/off/down manual switch please let me know. wires are blue, red, white, black out of motor with a capacitor between it and burned out logic board. converted a 1971 Flxible transit bus from LA City Transit district into 40' motor home (6 years work). Mostly tinker now in my 36' by 48' shop and laugh at the viagra commercials the other fellers have to watch. Either fish oil, vitamin C, baby asprin, a cholestrol pill, or a 20 year younger wife still keeps me out of the obituary column every morning. Just bought wire welder so in the process now of trying to learn something besides how to burn holes in square tubing. Not a golfer, per se, although i do play. my handicap is trying to play golf.
Always have a cup of coffee, or a cool one in the shop, if anyone is ever in Tehachapi, CA area. Drop by. joe cooper greyfrontier@gmail.com
