I'm on my third tractor in four years. Once i saw the tasks i could do with the first one..... each newer tractor was a little more powerful than the last. I expect i'll have my current B3030 for quite awhile........ unless of course we move to a house with more land and larger tasks.

1*The bigger the tractor the bigger my pucker factor.
2*I like having 3 ;)
3*People had a harder time convincing me I didn't need 3 tractors.
Some worked very hard at it but they failed.
:D :D
your being a little two sided here, don't you think,, Maybe most people have a financial limit in which going bigger is actually much cheaper to finish whatever they need to vs as you say, "I have three tractors even though many tried to talk me out of it". For me, I would trade in my L48 in a heart beat for a new 59. Financially it can't happen, ANd Yes, bigger would work and actually be more efficient.. Geology of the area you live in, property size, needed work to be done, there are so many variables that can go into this equation,. For me,, you keep your three little tractors,, I'll upgrade to a bigger machine when I can

I'm planning on keeping mine for at least 10 years and hoping for a lot longer. When I was searching for one I used my former Ford 860 as the basis as the horsepower -vs- size was perfect for me, especially in the woods. My L5030HST was the answer. I was really shy about the Hydro as I have always ran geared but I haven't looked back since and it would be hard for me to go back to a gear now. I was looking for a long term investment and the wife agreed saying "get what you want so your not disappointed later". Come to find out that is sound advice as I can't believe I will need any more than 50hp or bigger weight as it has easily done more than I expected with ease.:D

I've bought 5 tractors during the past 5 years.
Only using 3 of them and the other 2 are up for sale.

3*I intend to.
4*I have more than enough tractor to do any thing I want/need to do on my place.
To up grade to another tractor simply for bigger size and more horse power would be a wasteful senseless move on my part.

First tractor, besides garden tractors/ mowers, a new 1988 JD 650 with FEL and BH. Second tractor 2008 JD 2320. Needed a new FEL bucket for the 650, none available. Bought a new tractor. All about dependability, I cannot see owning a tractor that parts for it are hard to get. I need a tractor that works not one that is idle because it is broken down. Things really go to crap fast with no tractor.

Tell me about it .
I let things go around here for 25 to 30 years because of no tractor to do anything with.
Bought a new bx23 in nov. 2004 have run it up to almost 1100 hours trying to get caught up and still can't quite see the light at the end of the tunnel.

3 years and no plans to sell unless I have to. Perfect size, weight, cost. Wouldn't change a thing for how I use it.
