Last year I paid off my L3010 and I was expecting to receive a statement of ownership, title, or something from Kubota. I thought I had read in an earlier post that they would send an ownership document of some type?
All I received from Kubota was a note indicating that the loan was paid off and no further notice would be forthcoming.
Did they change something here? Their message sounded pretty finite to me.

Tractors don't have titles. The Bill of Sale is the only proof of ownership needed.

You need to request a Certificate of Ownership from the selling dealer. He then requests this from Kubota, they produce it and send it to him. He will then assign the back of the Certificate of Origin to you on the back of it. You can take that Certificate to your State Motor Vehicle Office and show proof of payment of sales tax, and they will issue you a Title in your name after you pay the title fee. There are a few states that won't convert it to a title, but most usually will.

I haven't kept up with all the latest laws, but to the best of my knowledge, Texas would be on in that category. I never heard of a title for tractor.

In Florida there is no title for a tractor, like there is for a boat or a car or truck. The Bill of Sale is it.

FYI

Check with your county clerk & make sure the UCC filing shows released or paid from the note holder.

When I went to get a farm plate for my B2910, The town sent a police officer to the house to match the serial # from the bill of sale to the tractor. I don't have a title.

I requested a certificate of Origin in Early November , also emailed Kubota and received no reply.

So Now I am going to call them to find out why . The Dealer was oblivious to the procedure when I requested it, then turned it over to the Field Rep , still no Certificate /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

You can be sure they do exist and that Kubota does supply them. I have one for both my B2910, bought in 2002, and my BX2200, bought in 2003.

The one for the BX took a long time to get. My dealer called Kubota about three different times when I stopped by to say hello and asked him about not getting it. Each time he left a message for someone...The certificate of Origin finally appeared about the time I forgot about asking for it. It was sent to my dealer who forwareded it to me.

Can not get license plates as it is considered an off road vehicle but a title is issued because so many are stolen. Helps to prove ownership.
