PA Amish Cabinet Mfg/Makers Know Any??????

Our local German Baptist have just started offering oak coffins. At 4500 for a low priced metal one, there should be a good demand.

Even we have bought our kitchen cabinet from an online store, many times its more cheaper avoiding the middle person.

Just because they are Amish does not mean they automatically do good work. Just like Yankee woodworkers, there are good ones and bad ones. Look at their work and see if it is acceptable to what you expect. The woodworking trade has to be learned just like any other trade. Good luck and hope you find a good cabinetmaker for your project.

There are a number of them in the Big Valley/Bellville area of PA -- Peachy's [a common name here] comes to mind]. I've had Amish crews build fences, replace porches, and clear brush. Always honest to a fault. My main contact with them always says "we're like any other group -- some like to work and some don't."

But the problem with working with the Amish is the lack of phones. If you are going to check out a number of contractors you are going to going to have to plan a pretty good road trip. Also transportation can be a problem and added expense if they need to work on your site.
