Dang rat made a major nest on top of my motor. Took him only 2 days to do this and he brought along his favorite foods and bedding. I intercepted his moving-in before he had a chance to install cable for his TV, stereo and install his appliances. He make an awful mess and chewed the fuel gauge wire so now my intellipanel shows fuel alert. He chewed the wire right where it comes from the fuel tank making splicing impossible. Guess I will have to replace the whole thing. I have put out the poison and eagerly anticipate his demise.

Sorry to hear that Hootie, dang it's always something isn't it? Have you tried raising his rent? Good luck with the eviction process - I know some good lawyers if he refuses to move.

It's that time of the year. I had to make a ring of D'con (or however you spell it) around my tractor and collector cars. The darn mice seem to be more aggressive and more populous this year.

Hootie,
Seeing as you are an insurance agent would this not fall under the "Vandalism Clause" in you Inland Marine policy /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hootie,
Up here in the north we use fabric softeners.(the type your wife would put in the dryer) I use them on the seat and a coulpe under the tractor. It works good on mice. I also use moth balls with good results but I can't take the smell.

At least in Texas, the mice love Decon. It has been used so long they have developed an immunity to it.

I buy the "rat cakes" from the feed store. It is a 4" X 8" (rough estimate) bar made of corn and whatever and that will kill the little rascals. Same stuff farmers use in their barns.

When I use it in the garage I use a metal can like Christmas cookies come in, roughly 12" in diameter and 3" high. Cut a hole about 1" in diameter and put the bar in there. That way the dogs can't accidentially get to it.
