I'm sorry, I was being sarcastic... 2.9 is a great rate of today!

Yep feels good, just wrote the last payment check on my JD 4310 borrowed $15,000. for 3 years and only paid $443. in interest. Went and bought a fiberglass canopy top and reasoned that it's just like one more payment.

RobJ- Sometimes its a better decision to finance a tractor than pay for it outright! Its not a dumb move all the time! When I bought my TN 65D with cab and loader, instead of buying it outright, I financed most of it for 3 years. NH gave me 0% financing! My $30,000.00+ collected 4.5% interest in a CD which generated about $4,500 interest for ME. Buying it outright would not have been the smart thing in my mind. What do you think? Ken

It's financial common sense to use someone else's money when they offer it for less than you are earning on savings.

My guess is many people finance because that's the only way they can afford it. If you haven't seen some of my other posts over the years then you will see 1) I bought used and saved a ton of cash ($5000 for the tractor, 60" fm and 48" bh), and 2) my tractor like most here is more of a toy than a "need". I mowed my little 1.94-acres with a hand-me-down riding mower that someone gave me and I fixed it (still have an mow sometimes). But now I have a little toy. Just like my ATV's I still hunted and hauled deer out and feeders in the woods without them.

I actually make good money but can't see buying(read afford) a $13000 riding mower just because. But if I got free money and made payments for 4 years then it would be "affordable"...or so it seems. I still spent $13000(maybe my main point). Maybe that $13000 could be college money, backup money incase of a lost job, etc. Some don't think that way. In my case my tractor, ATV would be the first to go. In my case buying used I've had offers for what I paid for my tractor. I hope it doesn't come to that, I do love the toy.

On the otherhand, if someone has the money, go for it! If I did, I would!! :D
If I ever win the lottery...you'll know it!! With pics! :D
