When you mention pain on a forum populated by tractor drivers and a lot of old guys, you will get a lot of responses. For me, it is shoulder tendinitis. Had it about a year. Got some cortisone which helped but didn't make it go away. Notoriously slow to heal in that area. Other than that, knees, lower back, neck, etc, etc.

I would give a chiropractor a try. I babied a sore shoulder for 6-8 months and my doctor recommended the chiropractor when I mentioned it during a checkup.

So I went to a good one that treats sports and work injuries. He fixed me up in four visits and no re-occurrence now in several years. Told me if I had come to him when the pain started, one visit would have done it.

The last time I did a lot of grading my neck was stiff for over a year. I tried to wait it out and treated it with ice and NSAIDs for 10 months and then went to see several doctors and ultimately had to get an MRI. I eventually found a way to "adjust" my upper spine and got the wife to massage the area. If I had listened to the doctors I would be broke, and probably still in pain. I'm more careful with my neck now. As you get older your discs can shrink and you have less flexibility, some more than others.... Hope you get back to normal quicker than I did.

My neck feels like somebody sticking an ice pick to the handle in one small spot when I am baling hay, not so bad when cutting and raking.

Nothing here to help you, but I can't pass up an opportunity to whine :p

Try blowing snow with a 3ph blower, a manual transmission and no live PTO.

I'm 63 and a good day is when I wake up and nothing new hurts.

The day I wake up and nothing hurts, I'll know I'm dead...

I have chronic neck/shoulder pain that gets worse when using the tractor. Last summer I painted the interior of my brother's house, it had nine foot ceilings and it really did a number on my back, neck, and shoulders. I went to a massage therapist and I felt like a teenager for about 2 days. My brother's girlfriend had an electrical muscle stimulator( don't get the wrong idea:laughing:) that a doctor had prescribed her following a car wreck. I think it was called E-stem. I used it twice for 20 minutes. The second time I was able to turn the current up alot higher and after that I didn't have any shoulder/neck pain for about 8 months. A guy I worked with years ago had one he carried on his belt and would have to use it almost every day.

I hear ya guys ... 2 surgeries on the left knee, 1 on the right. Left shoulder surgery this spring... now that one was a bear to recover! I'm still feeling the effects of that surgery. Lower back bugs me about 30 percent of the time. My neck locks up about once a month, pulling my head to the left ... seems like that one originates somewhere in my left shoulder blade, usually lasts up to a week.

Getting old sucks! I just hit the ripe old age of 33 ... the worst part is my job is labor intensive, and I still have a ways to go before retirement!

But I have to say, being on the tractor is enjoyable enough that I can ignore most of the pain.

Happy tractoring boys

Ditto. We go to one on occasion and it helps a lot.
