Do you have a panel off, such as a hood or fender, something factory orange, you could take to the paint supplier? If so they have a camera they can use to get the mixing info they would need to mix it.

Iamanated,

Now that you know the paint code derived from your tractor panel, do you want to share with the forum community in that it helps others?

Why did your painter want to use urethane paint? Durability?

Home hardware sells it by the gallon already mixed no paint code. They also have other tractor brands of paint already mixed. Massey , John Deer , International, Cat, etc: just go and buy the color you need. BTW can also be bought in Rattle cans and 1 liter cans.

I paint a lot of the Kubota Orange II and it is a spectacular quality acrylic enamel with great shine and durability. Around $40 a qt.
An automotive quality finish on a tractor doesn't look right.

SIXDOGS!!! This from a man who obsessed and became **** retentive over Kubota grey paint a couple years ago. Only joking!! Last year I bought a spray can of Kubota orange from the dealer. Shook it very well - paint came out in monster glob-lets - made a real mess out of a portion of one FEL arm. I just wiped it down and let it dry. The area mixed well with our local volcanic ash - no chance, what-so-ever, looking like automotive quality finish. A month after it dried - I waxed this area - it kind of looks like Kubota Camo Orange now.

You know what though - the weird Kubota Camo Orange FEL arm works just as well as the shiny one - on the opposite side.

Why, ahh... err... ohh, that couldn't possibly been me obsessing about Kubota grey. OK, but only maybe...:D

I'll call the globlets operator error. :) Globlets are letting can lay on it's side or not shaking enough or not having a clean tip. I've used lots of spray cans and that's how I got globlets.

Give me sixty seconds and I'll have you spraying with a can better than an beginning intermediate painter with a spray gun.

Any numbers for the old Kubota blue?

If no one else knows it, I have a can in the basement. The codes are also on Messicks website and he is an advertiser on this site.

It was a Kubota flat-black.

I know because I scientifically* solved his dilemma by the 6th post of that thread. Yet, the thread went on and on until he came to the same conclusion.

It wasn't flat black. :) It was Dark Grey Semi -Gloss and you just happened to get lucky. Ok, maybe skillfully lucky but I'm like Columbo with paint colors and they need to be factory correct. Yes, Ok, you got it right. Good thing we didn't bet. :D

I don't think Kubota even has a flat black.
