Turns wood a greenish hue. I know, used it on a gun stock.

I also use it to clean carburetors. Works great.
As a paint stripper it is not bad, however it will darken your wood, OK on metals.
Fireplace andirons as well as the glass doors end up looking just like new.

When I was in college I worked for a mechanic and he would send me to buy oven cleaner by the case.
