I pressure washed the tractor today since I got it pretty muddy and the durn paint started coming off the wheels and the steering stabilizer. Anyone else have this happen?

Geuss it could be a lot worse. Guy down the road bought a new Deere and he had to send it back because his engine was leaking coolant and his cab leaks. He was very surprised at what I paid for my tractor.

Sorry to hear of your situation, jwcinpk. I've pressure washed mine several times with no ill effects. Course after I had to replace a piece or two of vinyl siding on the house because I blew a hole in them /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif, I've got a lot of respect for pressure washers.

Know what you mean about the pressure. The wife engraved the wooden porch when we first got ours. I have pressure washed my other tractors with no ill effects! It's only on the wheels and the steering stabilizer. The stabilizer went back to red and the silver wheels are black underneath. It didn't go down to metal. I'm all about functionality anyway. Just a matter of time til I ding it up good! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

You'd like my pressure washer. It's 3500 psi and hot water. Could melt the siding.

Sounds like the old Steam Ginny my uncle had when I was a kid. Worked great for removing grease, paint, skin and about anything else that got in front of it! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

LOL thanks but no thanks /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I seem to be able to tear up plenty with my little Honda.

Actually, It's an Aladdin. It's made by the same people who make waste oil furnaces.

It has a 13 horse Honda engine and a diesel fired heating unit on it.

Really nice for cleaning farm equipment and vehicles too.

I went through a number of pressure washers as we have very hard water and the water eats up the pumps. When you buy the "Northern" specials or Lowe's for that matter, you can't get parts for them. What you wind up with is a good engine and a shot pump. Your alternative is to go back to Northern and buy another pump for big bucks, or get another complete unit.

With the Aladdin, I also have a service agreement. I purchased the unit through a commercial jobber who also services them. He stocks all the parts for the pumps and the engines (not that a Honda ever needs parts). If the pressure washer ever needs serviced, I just call him and he comes out. If it's a major repair, I get a loaner unit.

I also get all my chemicals from him. I purchase my cleaner/degreaser in 5's and he also carries the hot wax the car washes use. He even has aluminum brightner and the prices are much cheaper than the box stores or mail order.
