I added (2) 5/16" grab hooks and a 2" hitch receiver to my pallet Fork frame. I intend to use the hooks to lift my mower deck vertically for cleaning. I'm sure I will find other uses as time goes on. IMG_0291.JPGIMG_0295.JPG

Awesome. I don't know why I never considered hooks on my forks. That puts the load nice and close to the loader pins.

073.JPG075.JPG085.JPGThis kind of grab hook helps secure a load when one has a ways to go with it.........probably the next best thing to a Grapple.

Thanks. That was my thought. If I have something heavy to lift with the chains or a sling, I can remove the forks and just use the frame. It doesn't weigh much at all. Light weight + load close to the pins = more lifting capacity. I just have to be careful with the load close to my grill guard. Maybe strap a tire on the front.

Me either but it looks like a great idea. How come we never thought of this?

I added a thumb to my forks. I will be adding grab hooks shortly. Already have them on my bucket.

I put hooks on mine when I built the frame years ago, even installed a D ring in the center, I use it a lot for hooking a chain or strap to when I need to drag a pallet back to the rear of a truck or trailer to grab it with the forks.

I got a chance to use the grab hooks today to lift my mower deck for blade removal and sharpening. It worked pretty well.IMG_0313.JPGIMG_0316.JPG

The best I recall, it was hand scraped last fall and sprayed with Fluid Film. But the blades were not changed until this unusually warm February.
I keep a clean set of cups and washers along with a sharpened set of blades ready to go each Spring. This MMM is on it's 5th season. It was hand sanded and repainted once a couple years ago. Never have used a pressure wash on it.
Cheers,
Mike

On second though, it looks like it was put away dirty....and the "clean" picture was after i serviced it. Looks like it took me about 4 hours to get 'er done.
