I'm starting to see a little rust forming on my Titan pallet forks stored inside a barn. Can anyone recommend appropriate treatment to avoid further rust?

I was thinking of using paste wax, but not sure about it.

They are yours, do as you wish!
I would suggest, knock off loose with a wire brush (powered if you have the capability) then treat it with whatever brand of a rust convertor. There are just about as many brands as there are paint brands. Then primer and top coat of paint if you desire. Follow instructions of the primer and top coat if used.

I'd just shoot 'em with some wd40 every so often. They're pallet forks, paint will get scraped off anyway, no?

What color were they from new? Just spray some more on after a little wire brushing.

I used to keep my forks nice and painted but gave up. Even making sure the tips were painted some bright color. Too much to do these days without worrying about that.

That is a great idea for me since I can barely see the tips of the forks at the best of times

I would just go plunge them into a pile of gravel a couple of times to knock the rust off and go put them away again.

Same thing I do with the bucket and blade.

Keeps most of the rust off well enough.

I've found Krud Kutter to be effective at removing even old rust.

Gibbs metal protector or fluid film..

I lube the frame where the forks slide, but that's about it. Forks are made to be abused. Paint will just scrape off & rust will happen. It's a tool not a show piece.

I do spray the tips of the forks with something bright from time to time. Does help with visibility, especially with rusty forks camaflauging themselves to look like dirt when hiding behind the hood, grill guard & loader frame.
