Forks Pallet forks - opinions on size

I'll let you know what they look like on Monday. I ordered a set of the 42" forks last Monday from Palletforks.com and have been tracking their progress with the shipping info that they emailed to me on Tuesday when they shipped. I don't know about the product yet, but the shipping service seemed pretty good.

Their service is great until you have a problem. See my thread "My grapple won't close". They were very helpful until I contacted them with a problem and since then all I hear is crickets chirping!!

Unfortunately this seems to happen quite a bit with smaller companies. I like to support small business but this is one area where I always seem to have better luck with larger companies. Maybe because with larger companies you deal with employees who are not directly impacted by warrantee costs.

I got my new 42" forks and am quite happy with them. Are they as nice as the $800 set at the dealer? No, but I don't need a set of forks with a 4000 lb rating when the tractor will only pick up 2k. I'm sure that they will work fine for any CUT with the skid steer mount. Everything looks strong with good welding, I will need to get a little black paint to touch up some areas that rubbed thru while strapped to the pallet. Overall a good value.

Touch up paint on your forks?? Man, I'll never keep up with you guys.

Trust me, I wouldn't do that to the forks themselves, just the frame to keep it from rusting. The forks will be both scratched and rusted.

I keep a regular schedule for washing my car, usually it happens in July.... using a power washer on a hot day, and beer is involved also.:drink:

I would think the beer would really foam up in the power washer :drink:
