Pallets in fields

There may be more to the "pallets in fields" than just the visible pallets. The whole field may be a fake, mounted on pallets.

Yeah, at one point I read most of the posts but couldn't remember what had been thrown out for ideas.

I got serious about this question and turned to google. I really didn't come up with anything. I found where someone used pallets stacked like the pictures to make a haycock(a mound shaped pile of hay). Doesn't seem like that is happening much today with modern hay equipment. I also found where people used them for climbing plants, that doesn't seem likely out in the middle of an open field. \

My most likely guess is something is brought to the fields on pallets, seed or what ever, then they stack the pallets so they can find them latter.

My guess, is that the pallets were going to be used to build a big Pallet Tractor.

Mostly likely, a nice JD Green pallet tractor since JD is the best, and with a gear tranny, not one of those wanna be tranny's that don't need shifting. Just pushing a pedal to go, like a child's battery powered toy tractor, is not a real tranny!

You will recall that a "seedist" theory was proposed early on. It did not fare well when subjected to scientific scrutiny.

Not to start another silly thread but did you ever drive down the road and see 1 boot or shoe or glove on a fence pole ? Makes me wonder about it. Why just 1 ? Where is the other 1 ? Was it lost in the road and some good meaning farmer picked it up and put it on a pole hoping that the person that lost it might see it and pick it up ? What about the person that lost it ? Are they walking around with just 1 boot on or wearing just 1 glove ? Am I getting to old or just have too much time on my hands to start pondering about such things ?

I've heard the boots are over the posts so the posts will shed water and they won't rot as fast. Seems like more of a decoration thing to me though.

See Post #13 and numerous others in the scientific literature. Seriously, you need to read all of the posts in order to get an idea of the brain power that has been devoted to this topic.

I think [IMO} that the pallets are there for bait to attract a nice set of pallet forks.
