Pallets in fields

Wow... 429 pages on pallets in fields. Amazing.

For those of us just clicking into this thread late, now that it has resurfaced, was the OP ever solved? My money is on them protecting irrigation fittings or risers, but I'm not reading the 427 pages between the first and this, just hoping to find that answer.

It was probably solved somewhere along the way but we enjoyed trying to out do each other with silly explanations so much that we didn't let on and kept adding more pages.

Were the fields with pallets flat or did they have curvature?

The original issue was never resolved, and the OP mysteriously disappeared. I think he was getting too close to the truth!

I never understood why the OP didn't simply ask the neighbor what they were for?

I didn't want it answered.
If sparc had found the truth, those of us who were having so much fun with the thread would have had to claim he'd been lied to so we could go on with our wild speculations.

I’ve personally seen pallets in a field but the use was obvious, it was a sod farm. I figure the OP’s case the pallets had some mundane use and they stacked them kind of like a tepee to keep the bottom from rotting.
